# 1 in the World (World Street race that is)

The first World Street race event was hosted by the NSCA at the 3rd Annual Cajun Nationals.  No Problem Raceway in Louisiana lined up the competition between
teams from Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain to see just who had the fastest street driven race cars in the world.   The cars were required to make a 25-mile
cruise on the streets of Louisiana to prove their eligibility.

When qualifying came around Steve Pateman of the UK, had his ’93 Vauxhall on top at a blistering 8.321, 168.30 mph.  Steve had just received one of our 1600 cfm Nitrous Pro IV carburetors the day before and installed it on his 4 year old proven combination and immediately picked up 2 tenths on an engine only pass!

He knew then it was looking good for his side.  Steve was correct.

On race day, the final was all-English.  Both Englander cars were Pro Systems carbureted and Pateman made a clean sweep of the weekend by taking out Jeff
Meads '54 Ford with an 8.241 @ 167.99 to Meads strong 8.523 @ 167.14 in a great final race.

The NSCA event continued with another amazing feat as Kevin Parent used his Lukovich powered Nova to grab the Top Qualifying spot, surpass 180 mph and win the
event in style.  Going 7.56 seconds in the final round at 180.14 mph with an amazing .009 light.  Kevin "The Freight Train" Parent was completely unstoppable.  To
quote Gilligan: "Make way for the Red Ball express!" 

In Top Street Randy Jewell grabbed the #1 Qualifying spot at 6.932.  The new paint job on the newly updated Pro Car Corvette is awesome.  You gotta see it.

Speaking of gotta see...Sponge Bob was the #1 Qualifier in Limited Street with an 8.07 second pass.  He did it again in the final round.  Another 8.07 scored him his first win of the year over yet another Pro Systems carbureted car driven by Jim Widener.

The Fun Ford Weekend hosted the O' Reilly Nationals and Billy Glidden took the win in Street Outlaw.  Once again,  proving Nitrous combinations are more consistent
on race day.

Sponge Bob Curran was at it again.  After spending a week lounging in Key West, he returned to the track to be the number one qualifier in Xtreme Street at 8.181 seconds.

In Pro Stock Butch Kemp was as surprised as we were, when he won the event and used Chris Uratchko power to push that Nova over 150 mph!  Butch took the win over
another Pro Systems carbureted car, this one driven by Jamie Stanton.  Jamie, who yet again repainted their car, this time in a very cool nostalgic design.

But Todd Goodwin was the fastest car Pro Stock car on the grounds, using his Pro Systems carbureted Viper to grab the number one spot at 8.834 seconds.
