From Sea to Shining Sea!
On the west coast, in Trans Am racing Randy Ruhlman drove
the No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette to the top of the podium
at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Randy used Pro Systems carburetion to win the event over a freight train of
following Jaguars by 3.434 seconds.

Traveling toward the center of our nation, Tony Depillo
King of the NSCA organization, did it again. At the NHRA Spring Sportsman
Challenge XIII at Gateway International Raceway. Tony piloted his "Honkin'
Hemi" 64 Plymouth Savoy to the new SS/B national record. Or should I say
records. Grabbing and resetting 1/8th and 1/4 mile marks. That guy
is good.
NHRA NATIONAL RECORDS

1/8 Mile

Now a quick spin of our globe toward the east coast, we
land at the NMRA Silver Dollar Nationals in Georgia, Sam Vincent took his
nitrous injected mustang to the top of heap. Qualifying his machine number
one
with a 7.63 @ 182.8 effort earning the UPR SSO Top Qualifier award.
Charlie Booze did it again in Hot Street, qualifying number one and winning the
event. The quiet but effective Charlie Booze is certainly boisterous with
his car once again this year.

The NSCA was also racing on the Eastern side of the country. Their trek
into Georgia resulted in a win in Real Street by Bruce Maichle. Maichle
who resides in the far east (Wilmington Delaware) took his '79 Firebird into the
winners circle at over 155 mph. In Pro Nostalgia, Joe Jacob showed his
tuning ability. His '64 Plymouth was a bracket car on race day, running
either a 9.41 or a 9.42 every time it hit the track to win the event. Great
job Joe!

US 131 in Martin Michigan started up their bracket racing program. Our new
test car hit the track for the first time this year and driver Tim Stout took it
right to the winners circle. The car did what a bracket car should,
running as slow as a 9.36 and as fast as a 9.35 in nine rounds of competition to
take the win over another Pro Systems carbureted car driven by Stan Jones.

Go, Tim, Go!!!

Dennis Kline used Pro Systems carburetion as well to take the Division 3 points
lead in Quick rod. Dennis proclaims that Quantity does equal quality as he
says all these round wins are the reason he's holding an
Iron Man. Dennis' car is a '95 Undercover Chassis Hard Tail, powered by a
Huntsville Performance center "555 Money Winner" and topped with a 1050 Pro
Systems Dominator.
