The first WORLD STREET
RACE is done and in the books. With the overall winner being the UK's Steve
Pateman in his Vauxhall Calibra's 8.241(167.99) to UK's Jeff Meads Ford Pop's.
Now you may have never heard of these car names, but you will if these guys ever
come over here again. The World Street race was quite an undertaking.
It required the cars to be boxed up and shipped over (yes, on a ship) to compete
against all comers and all nations who thought they had something for these
guys. The Brit's have always been good with dangerous machinery
(reference: WWI and WWII) so they're always a good bunch to team up with.
So a good showing was expected. But a 1-2 finish was not expected.
Steve Pateman put a number out there that was not to be touched, traveling the
1/4 mile in his street driven vehicle in the very low 8 second zone.

Thanks from Pro Systems for the
1-2 finish guys. Great job Steve on a professional performance and an
incredible one as well.
