JUNE 2003 - SHOWCASE

Dear Sirs,

 I'll try and keep this short!!  Last year I "thought" I had a carb problem.  After asking 10 different racers and getting 10 different answers, I decided to ask a pro.  This is when I first call Pro Systems.  I told them that I had an 830 Holley and was using it on a 1500 lb SBC Altered.  Since I didn't have much knowledge on carbs, I was all ears!!!  After about a 10 minute discussion, the representative that I talked with (can't remember his name, sorry!) told me that I had the incorrect "fuel curve" for my application.  He informed that this would be a "piece of cake" to fix!!
 
Now I had to convince my wife that I definitely had a carb problem.  I had previously told her that the car "should" be running mid 9's instead of the 10.0's that it currently is running.  She asked me, "Are you sure there is a problem?"  My answer was, "No, I'm not sure there is a problem, but I think so!!"

So, sent the carb to ya'll without getting her "total" blessing.....

After I got it back, mounted it, set the floats, I made a pass.....  Even in the burnout box, I knew I had awakened the beast!!!  I dropped .04 on my best 60' and turned a 9.59 on the carbs maiden voyage!!  After very little adjustments, that time has fallen to a 9.51!!!
 
After spreading my success story around the pits, everybody agreed, $400 = 4 tenths, was money well spent!!! 
 
I want to again THANK YOU on a job well done!!  If/When I ever move up to a Big Block or change cars, ya'll will be the first one's to get a call.
